David Bellemare

David Bellemare joined the Ottawa Fury in December 2003 and is responsible for the training and development of the goalkeepers playing in the club’s Prospects Program, Youth Development Academy and Professional Development Academy as well keepers with the Fury’s PDL and W-League teams.
Throughout his years with the Fury David has work with Canadian National Goalkeeper Taryn Swiatek, Leisha Alcia, Erin McNulty, Dayle Colpitts, Rachelle Beanlands and Audrey Bernier-Larose. In the last 7 years, over 18 Fury Youth Goalkeepers have earned scholarship to American (NCAA) and Canadian (CIS and CCAA) Colleges and Universities. In the summer of 2009, Chad Bush signed a contract to join the Toronto FC Academy and Audrey Bernier-Larose got her first call to the National team. In the summer 2011, all six keepers playing for the Fury’s W-League and PDL squads were products of the Ottawa Fury Youth Program. Longtime Fury W-League keeper and Youth Program product Jasmine Phillips also captured All-Conference Goalkeeper honours in 2011 and continues to be one of the top goalkeepers in the W-League following an amazing career at the University of Maine where she set and continues to hold several school, conference and NCAA records.
Prior to joining the Fury, Bellemare served as the Goalkeeping Director for Premier Soccer Academy in Toronto, one of the top soccer academies in the country. Bellemare has also been involved in Canadian University soccer for the last 10 years with three of the most successful programs in the country at Laval University, University of Toronto and currently the University of Ottawa. David has also been involved with different sport-etude programs in Quebec and Ontario over the past 9 years.
Furthermore, David had the opportunity to join various soccer camps in the United States and spent 5 months with the Pumas, Mexican 1st Division Club in 2000 as a guest coach. In the fall 2010 and winter 2011, he was the Goalkeeper Coach with CASL Chelsea FC Academy, one of the leading clubs in the United States.
Throughout his career, David has specialized in coaching Goalkeepers. He holds, since 2008, the Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma - the most comprehensive goalkeeping courses offered by the NSCAA - and a Diplome d’entraîneur provincial (DEP), Quebec provincial coaching license and a Physical Activity Sciences degree from Laval University. |
