Stephen O'Kane

Stephen was appointed Head Coach at Algonquin College, its youngest ever , at 26 years old. This past season Stephen led the Thunder to an udefeated season and a CCAA National Title. The team was 14-0-1 and ran away with the nationals winning the final 4-0. Since taking over in 3 years he has guided the Thunder to one CCAA National Title (2006), three OCAA Championships (2004, 2005, 2006), and two National CCAA Silver Medals (2004,2005). 

In 2007, his U16 Fury team won an SYL Championship finishing (10-1-1) with an impressive +50 goal differential. They will be travelling to the SYL Finals in November. His U16's also finished a remarkable 3rd place at the internationally recognized Foyle Cup. The only North American team to advance to the elite section, his Fury squad beat tournament favorites Inter Africa before losing a heartbreaking 2-1 decision to Republic of Ireland U16, the eventual champions.

In 2006, his U20 Fury finished 2nd place in the newly formed u20 division. Finishing second place by 1 point. This again qualified the squad for the SYL Finals. Seven members of this team went on the US to earn scholarships and five squad members went to Algonquin where they won a National Title.

In 2005 Stephen guided the U17 Fury team to an unbeaten (15-0-0) season and a SYL Championship. His squad also won the prestiguous Woodbridge tournament and finished runners up in the US Cup Regionals. 

As a player at Algonquin College he won the Provincial title in 1999 and was National Runner up that year as well. He was also a 3 year team captain and OCAA All Star. Stephen had trials with Sheffield United where he played with their academy team as well as the University squad. He received a soccer scholarship to Geneva College in Pittsburgh. Stephen was also team captain of the EODSA squad which participated in the NSL league
