Current Canadian national team player and former Fury W-League and SYL graduate Christina Julien has continued to take her game to new levels, starting 2009 off with a goal glut of epic proportions. Julien scored two goals in a 5-1 pre-season victory versus Xavier before pouring in a hat-trick against Bucknell (3-0 win), games for which she was named the CAA player of the week.
At Fairleigh Dickenson University, 2008 scholarship recipient Bailey Popowich helped the Knights to a 2-1 victory over Saint Peter's college. Popowich capitalized on a broken play after a failed free-kick to slot home the equalizing goal before senior classmate Katie Hilder sealed the victory late on. The win pushed the Knights' record to 2-2-0.
In keeping with his stellar 2008 form, Merrimack College's Robbie Sabadoz continued his scoring streak into the start of the 2009 season. The Fury PDL player netted the second goal in a September 4th 2-0 victory over Post, latching onto a breakaway ball from 20 before slotting home in composed fashion. He also scored the only Warriors' goal from a free kick in a 3-1 September 6th defeat to Dominican college - a game that saw him face another Fury graduate in Dominican keeper Brandon Heembrock.
