Professional Development Academy (17-20): At the level of the Professional Development Academy (PDA), male and female players will be selected for their quality and potential to play at the higher levels of the game. Players graduating from our U16 Elite Youth program will form the core of the group and will be complemented in the summer by selected collegiate and other talented players. These players will have the opportunity to play in top Showcase tournaments (e.g., Umbro Cup, Score at the Shore), the USL Super-20 League as well as the OCSL Mens and Womens Premier Divisions. Players in the PDA should have aspirations to train and play with the PDL and W-League teams. (LTPD Stage: Training to Compete)

"We have decided that it is in the clubs best interest to invest our time and effort in players who have the potential to play with our W-League and PDL teams and beyond. In order to best prepare the players for the next level, we feel that it is necessary to offer a comprehensive and intensive program, which will be challenging for the players. The PDA will serve this need", Dom Oliveri, Technical Director, Girls.

"For players who have aspirations to play at the highest levels, this is the place to be in Ottawa" , PDA Boys Head Coach, Jason Da Costa.

JASON DA COSTA
Professional Development Academy Boys Coach

The Ottawa Fury are pleased to announce that Jason Da Costa will return to the Fury for a sixth season as a head coach and for 2011/12 will head up the Professional Development Boys Academy. Jason began coaching the Fury at the Academy level and after great success with the club's younger age groups Jason has replicated that success in the Youth program leading his team to the Super Y-League North American Championships the past two seasons. As a player, Da Costa also boasts an impressive resume spending 5 years at CIS powerhouse Carleton University reaching the National Championships on two occasions.

JIMMY ZITO
Professional Development Academy Girls Coach

Earlier this month the Fury announced that Jimmy Zito would be the Fury Prospects Girls Director and now Zito will also take on the leadership of the Professional Development Girls Academy. His work with female players is well documented and while his teams have achieved continued success on the field, it is the off-field accolades of his players that Zito is most passionate about as he has helped countless players earn scholarships in both the United State (NCAA) and Canada (CIS and CCAA). This past winter, Zito was recognized at the Ottawa Sports Awards as Coach of the Year for his commitment to player development, advancements and success following a season that saw him lead his U17 Girls to a North American Championship - the first team in Ontario to capture this title.
