The Ottawa Fury closed out their Plomelin experience on Saturday with games against Ville de Quimper and hosts Plughuffan. After a 2-0 loss to Ville de Quimper to open the day, the Fury closed the tournament out in style with a 1-0 victory over hosts Plughuffan thanks to a goal from Richard Parker. The Fury will depart Plomelin with a respectable 1-5-2 which doesn't include a 7-1 pre-tournament win. Last season the Fury were 3-4-0 in the 7 match tournament.

After some tough games on Day 1 at Plomelin (0-3-1) the Fury pulled off a suprising result on day two against the impressive and strongly fancied Club Athletico Paranaense from Brazil. Paranaense, one of Brazil's oldest professional clubs, took a 1-0 lead early in the second half, but a late corner kick led to an equalizing goal from Richard Parker to give the Fury a credible draw against very talented opponents.

Earlier in the day the Fury lost a close game with C.S. Bretigny. Bretigny took an early lead, but the Fury leveled the score on a goal by Aidan Caulfield. Bretigny came back strong and won the game on a breakaway. Mico Oliviero saved a late penalty for the Fury to keep the score at 2-1.

After spending a couple of days taking in the sights in Paris the Fury took to the field in preparation for the opening on tournament play. On Tuesday, the Fury took on OMS Nantes in an exhibition match posting a 7-1 victory with goals from Parker (3), Langis (1), Lofranco (1), Wadden (1) and Mahoney (1). With a victory and some confidence in their back pocket the Fury opened the Plomelin tournament against Jersey FC (Great Britain) falling 1-0 with an own goal proving to be the difference. In their second match the Fury would drop a 2-0 decision to the French Ligue Champion side AS Nancy Lorraine (France). The Fury would then play to at 0-0 draw against French side Plabennec only to fall 2-0 to past Plomelin champions RSC Anderlecht from Belgium.

Friday, May 7th will see the return of the Ottawa Fury Soccer Club to France to play in the 25th edition of the Mondial Pupilles de Plomelin tournament. A mixture of Fury U12 and U13 players will embark on a voyage to the town of Pluguffan - which will play host to their group stage of the tournament.  2010 sees the Fury placed in a group with the likes of two-time winners RC Anderlecht (Belgium), in addition to CA Paranaense (Brazil), Jersey (Great Britain), AS Nancy/Lorraine (France), Pays de Plabennec (France), CS Bretigny (France), Ville de Quimper (France) and Selection de Pluguffan (France). The format sees the top two teams from each group qualify for the knockout rounds - with a consolation bracket for the rest of the group. The tournament begins on the 13th of May and runs until the 16th, with eight different towns in the region each hosting a group of nine different teams.
