The Fury started the game knowing they had to win and executed beautifully.  With a short bench due to injuries and illness, the boys had their work cut out for them.

Early in the match the Fury dominated play, keeping possession and creating opportunities.  In the 12th minute, Fury forward, Julien Horwood calmly dribbled through 3 Seacoast defenders producing a great shot...

Under unexpectedly clear skies the Ottawa Fury U14 Boys held their season home opener against a determined Blackwatch squad from upper New York State.  The Fury boys  established their presence early with a beautiful header from Trysten Larabie in the third minute and never looked back.  Midfielders controlled possession and distributed the ball skillfully while the Fury back line comfortably dealt with the minimal attack delivered by their opposition. 

The Fury U14 Boys were the last Fury team to qualify for the SYL Finals, but the first to collect victory at this year's championships.

 

With the 2009 SYL North American Finals having come and gone, the USL has begun releasing All-Tournament honours for each participating age group in this year's edition of the competition.  In addition to making the semi-finals of this prestigious tournament, the Ottawa Fury had two players named to the class of U14's for 2009. 

With the USL Super-Y League Finals Tournament just over a month away, the Fury are preparing to send five teams to vie for a national championship.  The U14 Boys were the final team of the five to earn a berth in the Finals, clinching their ticket with crucial end-of-the-season wins against JBS FC (1-0) and the New Hampshire Phantoms (11-2).
