Jimmy Zito enters his his fifth year as a Fury head coach and has enjoyed tremendous success with the Ottawa Fury. During his tensure as an SYL coach Jimmy has amassed a record of 54-9-7 during regular season SYL play that has led to 2 New England Division Championship and 5 trips to the SYL North American Finals in Tampa. Jimmy's teams reach the US National Cup Championships in 2007 and for an unprecendented second time in 2008 sadly falling in both championships. As coach, Jimmy hold a record of 13-3 at his competition.
In 2008 Jimmy became the first Fury coach to guide a team to the SYL Championship Finals where they fell in a heart-breaker against Cape Cod. Jimmy is also the head coach at Algonquin College in where they captured a Provincial Championship in 2010 and reached the National Championships.
Jimmy has also coached at his former High School, St. Pius, leading both the boys and girls teams to OFSAA in every year as coach which included winning gold at OFSAA with the boys.
Jimmy began his coaching under the Nepean Hotspurs where he learned about youth development and technical and tactical movements.
As a player he played his club soccer with St. Anthony's losing in an Ontario Cup Final as well as a CPSL Cup Final. While playing with Algonquin Jimmy also captured a National Championship in 2002.
He is a strong believer in discipline as well as a hard work ethic which has proven very valuable to the success of his teams as well as his many players who have gone on to player and U.S. and Canadian post-secondary schools. |
