Marcelo is a returning Ottawa Fury Coach who, back in 2006, coached the U12 Ottawa Fury Academy girls.  During his time with the U12s, the girls were silver medalist at the St.Anthony Soccer Challenge Tournament and won the Ottawa Royal's Soccer tournament.

Prior to coaching the U12 Academy girls, Marcelo was the head coach for the Ottawa Royals Women's Premier team that won two Ottawa league titles and one Ottawa Cup during three seasons there.

In 2008 and 2009, Marcelo was coaching Academy clubs in Montreal and took the U12 Étoiles de l'Est Females to an undefeated season and winning the Laval League Championship.

In his playing career, Marcelo was a three-time Eastern College Soccer Allstar with the Royal Military College of Canada.  Marcelo was also a key part of the Ontario Cup winning Ottawa Royals in 2003 and 2004.  

In addition, he was a member of the 2006 Ottawa Fury PDL team and won the Canadian National title with Ottawa St.Anthony's soon after his PDL season. Since 1998, he has and continues to represent the Canadian Forces National Soccer team at various international championships and most recently participated at the 2008 Military World Games in Hyderabad, India.  This Nov 2010, he will be representing the Canadian Forces in Suriname in order to qualify for the World Games being held in Rio de Janeiro in Feb 2011.
